José Ignacio Mena is a musician of reputed prestige in the world of the blues, with numerous projects and works. We present in this Blues at Moonlight a solo show like “Hot Nasho & Himself Orchestra” in the manner of “One Man Band” where he plays guitar, ukelele, hype, hi hat, harmonica and kazoo, playing both own songs and blues of Different artists and styles, as well as Swing or Hawaiian style.
Incorporating elements of the Blues, Swing, Ragtime and Rock’n’Roll, Hot Nasho has managed to create its own style based on its interpretation as “one man band” and that has taken to him to obtain a national recognition between the artists of this one gender.
In this 10th edition of Blues at Moonlight will present his new work “Lain down thinking“, which consists of 14 original songs, including cuts that remind the blues of RL Burnside, Swing in the style of the Duke Ellington or Cab Calloway , Or the style based on the Ragtime that impelled Blind Blake.
Other genres of unmistakable American roots make of this album a compilation of styles that remember the past and that reappears in the last years thanks to artists like Pokey Lafarge, JD McPherson, Charley Parr or Dom Flemons among many others, and that Hot Nasho , From Spain, develops very faithfully this musical movement that will never go out of style.
