About This Project

“The Colt Miners is a trio from Asturias with clear influences from 50’s retro-American music, ranging from the most classic rock-a-billy in the style of Sun Records or Coral, to the western swing once popularised by Bob Wills, as well as classic country or the most traditional rnb.

The group was formed in 2016 with the singularity of not including drums in their performances, with the double bass taking on the functions of percussion with surprising results, following the guidelines of the folk tradition of the southern states of the USA.

Initially adopting the name “The Folsom Three”, they began their career in the local Asturian scene, soon appearing on the bill of several Spanish festivals (Sada, Lanzarote).

In the middle of 2018, the band enters the Circo Perrotti Studios in Gijón, where they record 4 of their own compositions. A few months later, they reach an agreement to release the aforementioned 4 songs on a 7” vinyl, whose publication is agreed for the beginning of 2020. At this point, they decided to change their name as it was considered more appropriate and attractive, taking it from a play on words that alludes to the firearms popular in the USA and to the coal miners, with a great tradition in the area where the trio came from, as they established their base in Mieres, Asturias. #rockabillyband #rockabilly #rocknroll #rockabillymusic #rockabillystyle #livemusic #rockandroll #rocknroll #rocknrollband #music #rock #liveconcert #ontour #doublebass #boppinb #vintage #rockabillylifestyle #gretsch #miguelcorchon #rockabillyfestival #s #benalmadenacosta #rockmusic #djtallmike #rockabillylife #activpromarbella #vintagestyle #pinup #costadelsol #thecoltminers #bluesatmoonlight
